Grace Lougen is a guitar player and songwriter from Buffalo, NY.  Lougen has deep roots in the blues, and she plays a variety of music including soul, funk, and rock. She is active on the Buffalo music scene performing with local bands every week, and toured Norway in the fall of 2016 as lead guitarist for the band Freightrain.

Also in 2016, Lougen traveled with Joan Baez as guitar tech on both a European and US tour (each a month long), and did some teching for The Indigo Girls. The experiences and connections that she made along the road have greatly inspired her songwriting, and she is passionate about creating music with a message. Lougen released her debut album in 2012 at Sportsmen’s Tavern with the legendary Will Mcfarlane (guitarist for Bonnie Raitt, Jackson Browne, Swampers, and many more.) More recently, Grace wrote and recorded an album with Freightrain bandleader, Robert Parker (bassist for Rock Bottom, Sherman Roberts, and many others), entitled "Outside Ourselves," which was released in May of 2017 and is available at or on all major music platforms.

Grace Lougen has made many connections with touring national acts by playing with/opening for them on their stops through Buffalo. These artists include Albert Cummings, Selwyn Birchwood, Devon Allman, and the late Leon Russel. Grace Lougen has also been performing regularly with Grace Stumberg, back-up vocalist for Joan Baez, since 2011. This past January (2017), Lougen traveled down to Breaux Bridge, LA, to record on Stumberg’s new album with engineer and musician Dirk Powell (instrumentalist for Joan Baez, Eric Clapton, and many more.) The new album, "Grace," is now available on iTunes or through
